Ah yes, I can see the Derek Hess reference.
He is from Cleveland, just a few hours north of where I am living.
There is a similarity in decision, in terms of how the figures and linework are decided.


I love the intimate violence here.

"Shy" or "self-conscious" would be the terms to describe it yet the face is so explosive and public an event.
